Science Tutoring

ALL ONLINE SESSIONS ARE 1:1 WITH OUR STATE CERTIFIED TEACHERS

The advantages of one-on-one online tutoring extend far beyond the ease of attending sessions from anywhere in the world and having a flexible tutoring schedule. Online tutoring enables Bridging Gap USA (BGAP) to call on the best teachers in the country, regardless of location, and provide them with an interactive virtual environment that brings their lessons to life.

About the Bridging Gap USA (BGAP) Platform

Our proprietary user-friendly platform includes video conferencing and a virtual whiteboard for tutors and students. Other features include the ability to share video tutorials, illustrations, animations, and digital documents (such as school assignments) that students can write on or fill out from their computer. This type of one-on-one multimedia tutoring session is highly effective and preferred by students and tutors.

What We Cover:

We cover environmental science, biology, chemistry, and physics. Our individualized tutoring services help your teen understand science, whether he or she is struggling to keep up or looking to get ahead.

We’ll start with an academic assessment to determine your child’s strengths and weaknesses, then design a tutoring program that targets their learning gaps and charts a course for success.

Our state-certified teachers have decades of experience developing techniques that prepare students for their exams, get them through homework, and optimize their performance on the SAT and ACT.

BIOLOGY

Biology, the study of life and of living organisms, ramps up in high school as students look into the main theories and concepts of the living world. At this stage of their learning, students develop laboratory experience and enhance their problem-solving skills. The tutors at Bridging Gap USA (BGAP) cover all the significant topics, including:

  • The scientific method
  • Cell structure and function
  • Energy and transport systems
  • Reproduction and cell division
  • Genetics
  • Evolution
  • Biomes and ecosystems
  • Human body systems
  • Ecology

Chemistry

Chemistry is the study of matter, its structure, and the changes that it goes through. The topics covered in high school can extend into kinetics, equilibrium, electrochemistry, and thermodynamics. We help students build their skills in many of the key concepts of chemistry, including:

  • The periodic table
  • Atomic structure (Bohr model of the atom) and electron configuration
  • Valence electrons and the Lewis diagram
  • Elemental composition of pure substances
  • Composition of mixtures
  • Molecular and ionic compounds
  • Intermolecular forces and properties
  • Properties of solids, liquids, and gases
  • Chemical reactions
  • Kinetics

Physics

PHYSICS | PHYSICS I | PHYSICS II | PHYSICS C

Physics is the study of matter and energy and the interactions that take place between the two. The tutors at Bridging Gap USA (BGAP) help students build the skills they need to exhibit scientific critical thinking and inquiry-based learning as they tackle Newtonian mechanics (including rotational motion), work, energy, and power, mechanical waves and sound, and basic circuits. The many concepts we cover include:

  • Kinematics
  • One and two-dimensional motion
  • Graphing motion
  • Newton’s laws
  • Force and motion
  • Energy transformations
  • Momentum and impulse
  • Energy and momentum
  • Wave properties and behavior
  • Sound
  • Electromagnetic radiation
  • Electricity and magnetism
  • Modern and nuclear physics
  • Fission and fusion
  • Radioactive decay

Message from the CEO

Hello Bridging Gap USA (BGAP) Families!

We welcome back all our students for learning.

Bridging Gap USA (BGAP) values the safety of our students, teachers, staff and our parents, and that’s paramount — no exception.

As we strive to reopen our center for learning, we are making every effort to bring back our in-person classes as safely as possible — along with the option of virtual learning. We have always maintained a high level of cleanliness and sanitation, but now we’re going above and beyond to implement stricter standards.

New center policies include:

  • Maintaining more than 6-7ft distance between students and teachers
  • Sanitizing and disinfecting after every class
  • All teachers, students, and staff will be required to wear masks at all times in the center
  • Any child who shows signs of illness (or lives with others who show signs of illness) should refrain from coming to the center.
  • Hand washing before and after the class
  • Checking temperature of staff upon entering

This policy change will help us continue to meet the needs of our students while also keeping them safe. Bridging Gap USA (BGAP) is here to serve, and we’re so excited to be able to see our students continue their learning despite the difficulties being thrown at them during this trying time.

Together, we “Prepare Today…Succeed Tomorrow!”
